Someone posted a reminder last year. Thank you. Here is a reminder for this year. Nasty things for dogs. 10927A1A-6350-4DE4-A0BE-276559B8F8EC.jpeg

Foxtails are terrible! Last season I had problems with goatheads in my dog's paws, nasty things, they'll go through cheap sandals and puncture a bike tire in a heartbeat!

Those - most of them - are filaree plants, not foxtails. But you are right - best be on the lookout for them. A vet friend once told me he kept alive economically until foxtail time, and then he'd start making money. They are vicious in eyes, ears, nostrils, paws.

Wasn't that smart of our for fathers to bring them in as cattle feed? You have to go North of Roseburg to get out of them. Seems like all most everything you don't want is non native.
