As of today, North Carolina no longer requires a permit to purchase a pistol. Law was passed by GOP controlled house and senate, then vetoed by the POS Dem Governor. Then veto was overridden by the GOP House and Senate.

Immediately the POS Dem party predictably said the world was ending and schools shootings would increase, guns would be as available as bubble gum and reeeeeeeeee…….

So no state permit required but still a background check like other states?

What my buddies are saying is they are now treated exactly like long guns, except the age 21 thing.

No longer need a permit to possess and can do private sales or gift to family without background check

I believe that’s a Federal requirement when purchased from an FFL holder.

Just like in Arkansas...

I'm surprised North Carolina didn't fall into the sea after its passage...lol.

But just like Chicago...how much did those permits actually stop? What did that process do except hinder ordinary people?

Isn't it Liberal Vermont - home of U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders (I) - that does not require a permit to purchase? Has no firearms registration? Where both open carry and conceal carry are legal without a permit?

Patience, give us time.

As of Dec we will also be able to legally conceal carry in church, not that there is any risk of a mass shooting in a church.

Correct. Got word from our county sheriff last night of the law change.
