Right on, Mike!
Congrats. One of these days...
Great pics Mike! Congrats on the band.
My nephew and I had a great shoot just down the road from you. We were limited by 9 o’clock so I sent my nephew to the clubhouse and called my dad and other nephew to come jump into the blind with me. They quickly had one canvasback each when another flock of cans started working the pond. I told them to make sure they only shot one bird each. I called the shot and watched my dad fire once and get a scotch double. I immediately yelled at my nephew to not shoot but it was too late. CRAP!!! My dog brought back the first canvasback as I started thinking about who I could swap out the third bird with. But it was all for not when my dog brought back the second bird which by some miracle turned out to be a hen redhead. And to make the story better, she was also banded. He’s only been out about five times this year but it was his second band as he shot a banded greenwing two weeks ago. What are the odds?
Great pictures, thanks for posting them!
Couldn't happen to a better guy , .... Congrats on the jewelry ! Great pics as usual ...
And so glad to see you back again!
My wife shot a banded ringneck last weekend. That’s her 5th band in 8 years of hunting. It’s mazing to me. I’ve been hunting ducks since 1968 and have taken far more than 2500 birds, yet only one banded bird; a greenhead in ‘72. The wife is just lucky!
