And yet... when in a drought year no one wants to get into all the dry reservoirs and start hogging out material at the bottom for extra capacity. Or Pile those same spoils up along the banks and levees and double the storage without building a new dam.
Raising Shasta 18' would do the same as hauling out 30,000 sets of doubles out of the lakebeds (by my crude math skills).

Well when gasoline is phased out by the left wing criminals neither will happen, but the energy needs will exasperate.
CA govt is a fat tick on society.
Great pics btw, esp Mt Shasta.

They don't have anyplace to store it. Everything is full. the state is too stupid to build reservoirs to catch excess runoff. They spent the money on a bullet train to nowhere.
Times like this is when you need more storage lakes. Plenty of fresh water has been going down through the system and still plenty left over to fill a few more lakes from different watersheds.

Lakes are home runs and for most part won't ever happen in CA - Sites has been in planning forever. Look at smaller projects - 1 to 3 month temporary holding areas using air filled bladders or small dikes - t a few times over and then they get drained first can add up and size appropriate for drainage and would be safe even if dam failed.

Did a loop around Lassen last weekend. Nice ride without the inundation of googans that are and will be out this weekend. Snow was cutting me off at around 6K and even in some areas down at around 5600’, but it’s melting off fast. Hat Creek was high but fishable around old station, Deer Creek was iffy but saw some spots I’d maybe try. Susan river was rockin. Saw some kids with heavy stringers by Almanor north shore campground.

Did not contemplate.

Awesome setup B&B, I like it,,,,a lot.
Think I saw your rig going up 80 last weekend? Lots headed East this week, probably not you, but that's a great rig for everything IMO.

Thanks Brottboss I’m really happy with it.
Very versatile and suits my usage. Makes for easy camping/traveling for two and a dog, can still load the waterfowl gear, or use truck for Home Depot or mild dump runs.

Would not have been I on 80 that time, starting to see them on rigs more and more lately.
