I’m gonna cook a few 12 gauge Hevi B loads for coyotes. I only have a day and a half- no time to pattern. I have loaded and patterned Hevi B’s with the 10 gauge and slit TPS wads thru a Terror .720. I did not like the pattern past 40-45 yards.

I have some MEC un slit wads. Does anyone have any pattern experience on what kind of behavior to expect? Will it give me a good 60-70 yards?

My recommendation would be a a 2oz buffered load with a turkey choke. My experience with hevi shot b on geese is the stuff will kill geese a long long ways i was using a bp load 1 3/4 oz at 1340.

I'd split the wad atleast halfway. The little bit I played with unslit it seemed too much remained in the wad and it tumbled before releasing shot.

But it will punch through plywood at 40.

Less choke will tighten up heavy shot. .745" to .735" two slits in the wad will also work better than no slits.

That was literally my logic, on the “less choke”

    So...
All I had to mess with was a Gatorade set at 50 yards (rangefinder). We let the coyotes alone today...Them un -slit wads don’t fly true by A LOT.

    Back to the drawing board.

Had you actually hit that gatorade bottle I'm betting it would have obliterated it tho.

Kinda like an instant shrapnel slug.

I think it was a heat seaking missile without the heat seaking...
