I posted this for Duck Enticer who stated:

“ I disagree. We still kill more ducks than any state. Probably the same for last year, even though we don't have the report...”

    Now you have the report.

    Ok, we have the stats
Now tell us how many hunters were surveyed
Where were they hunting (public, private, planted or not planted
    Who conducted the survey
How many birds does that calculate per day in field each Hunter in state
We could go on and on, my point is that surveys can be very biased depending on who is conducting the survey. Remember the people conducting these syrveys sometimes have an agenda. I will never buy into statistics that are derived from a survey that data is collected from a very small percentage of participants and assuming the data collected is accurate. Especially when the survey is taken from the most likely positive respondents. Sorry I just don’t buy it, not that anyone cares! I remember yrs ago hunters who responded to the surveys had a tendency to, well let’s say embellish the numbers. By the way “born to hunt” none of this is directed toward you. I would be more interested in seeing the actual reported kill than a speculation as to total numbers killed. As the old saying “statistics don’t lie but a statistician will”. I personally think that it would be impossible to get a TRUE assessment of birds in state and birds harvested. However I’m certainty not an expert in counting birds or harvest numbers. Believe it or not I wish I could be convinced . Just sayin!

That's fair. Thanks for posting. We didn't kill more ducks than Arkansas, Texas and California, but still pretty close. We harvested about a million birds last year. My opinion doesn't change that we need to reduce seasons and limits to increase imprinting.

Am I a DA or does the decline in harvest relate to the decline in hunters??
