    I used to think that as well. Then I learned I was just calling wrong and at the wrong times. I used to think birds got call shy. No it was just me messing up on reading the birds.

    Oh come on! Have you LISTENED to the calling on some of the tapes posted in here. Them guys get ducks so I think I can do do as well as them

    The short bus may have slowed down at my house but it didn't come to a full stop

    Hey I actually rode on the short bus.it had a fence half way thru to keep us up front.
    We wore hard hats to complete the look.
    Driver too.
    Rowdy bunch.
    High school building trades class.
    We built houses and got school credit.
    Short bussers

    Drake whistle is what you're looking for. In a very few minutes, you can learn to call mallards without sounding douchy.
