Caught 3 common carp to 7.5 lbs, 3 bluegills, 2 golden shiners, an 18” channel catfish and a musk turtle with ShopRite canned whole kernel corn on a #4 gold hook and 4 lb test line in the 72 degrees Millstone River this evening in the rain. Fish bite best in the rain. Landed 32 carp and 17 turtles this year. Ultralight fishing is lots of fun.

Did you pitch them bad boys back out as bait? They are one of the best baits for me on the non-tidal Delaware for Flatheads, Channels, and Striper.
No, I just released them. I caught as many as 17 per day while carping. They hit and fight hard on ultralight tackle and also attack jigs.

It picked up the bait then swam away very fast late in the day. Made a long run downriver. Big piles of moss kept getting stuck in the tip of my rod. I stopped reeling many times in order to remove the moss from my line. Took lots of pics. Gave the fish to Tony in the parking lot when I left. Landed 34 carp this year including 5 in the past three days from the Millstone River.
