Caught and released 19”, 18” and 17” channel catfish, 3 bluegills and two musk turtles with ShopRite canned whole kernel corn on a #4 long shank gold hook and 4 lb test line in 82 degree Gropp’s Lake this evening. Ultralight fishing is lots of fun.

A 24” 5 lb striped bass that I caught, tagged and released in Manasquan Inlet 10/16/2020 was recaptured at Manasquan Beach 7/3/2021 at 25.5” and 8 lb for my 250th fish tag return. My last four fish tag returns were near where I tagged the 2 bluefish and fluke at Manasquan, NJ.

Went fishing last evening with an old buddy 89 years old! Caught a mess of smaller brook trout , enough for a decent dinner. Heading to his house in a few minutes he's frying the salt pork now rendering it down to fry them in. Sorry no pics but they are the prettiest fish IMO

Haven't been going much but my luck has been good when I do. Spearfishing, hit the jetty in sebastian one day, and some bluegills at an airbnb with the fam in town when I noticed how big they were.

Caught and released 4 undersized fluke on an Ava jig in Manasquan Inlet this evening on the full moon incoming tide. Tagged 3. Saw a school of fish chasing bait up the inlet. The smallest ray that I ever saw was swimming very fast in the inlet.
