Just got in myself. Took the kayak out and put in at a friends house. We Caught a bunch, kept a few. Was a little chilly (35°) but fun. Water is very low.

Just yanking your chain man! I know it's taboo to eat bass alot of places.

I don't keep them but the population here is pretty good but not over abundant and I'd rather catch them than eat them. I throw back 95% or more of all the fish I catch of every kind.

It’s all good, I’m fishing a private 80 acre lake I have another house on, biologist said there is way to many fish in it to keep everything we caught and it’s spring feed so the fish eat good. That’s the only place I keep fish to eat.:tu

We are sitting on go right now, it's another 4 weeks before the caddis hatch and we will be on the henry's fork wearing out the rainbows and browns. We have good local fishing through the end of february, but this time of year is slow around here so we just spend our time with Caleb tying flies and I've been working on some new landing nets. We did some repairs with some solerez glue Caleb uses on his spanish nymphs on a few breaks in the old fish pond net and I built a bent wood walnut net handle for our raft. It's my first time trying to do something like that. I'll be tying some flies once Caleb gets moved into his new house and the fly vise is found, he's working on nymphs and cinnamon ants as well as a few other dry flies trying to get ready for summer. I've got two more net handles in the works, both short for wade fishing. Just trying to create some family heirlooms that will be handed down and keep me busy while I wait for the caddis hatch. All the walnut came from my dad's farm in eastern Kansas.
