Your timing to visit ND - this year anyways - was just about perfect. Read through past years and typically middle October can (on average) be pretty stale especially if the weather is more conducive for pheasant hunting.

I stand corrected on my previous report, haven't been out since the cooler weather and what I saw I guess isn't good representation of what is actually out there. Have a look at this video posted by the place I guide at here in Manitoba. Of course they aren't operating this year due to covid.

Stupid number of ducks and geese.

I'm confused. I got one guy saying it's over in ND and then another guy 300 clicks north saying wave 3 & 4 are yet to come. Would these ducks make up their mind already.

Thank you for clarifying! Makes perfect sense why ice eaters don’t work- but maybe for 1-2 hunts. Appreciate the education

That clip reminded me of what it USED to be like north of the border with less pressured birds. Now days with all the outfitters & hunters the birds do not get a chance to settle into any kind of 'usual' routine before they are chased out....Ahhh the good old days. Thanks for sharing the clip Chris!

I just got home. You guys have an amazing state. I had a great time out there. It was like going back in time. Great people. Great hunting. We did very very well where I went. Didn’t see that many hunters and the birds were plentiful. I hope to do this every year.

Temps supposed to get into the 50’s next week. Crazy how fast things can change. I don’t know what to think for the first week of November now.
