Any idea where they got snow? I saw some areas with 3-5 inches but nothing severe.
Regina. I mean no it was not a foot per say but should be enough to get some birds moving. Seems like when the Dakota's get five inches and 30mph winds they mostly all leave. I mean if no birds moved on it the whole we need 30 mph northwest winds theory is well basially for not. And realistically the calendar ducks like spoonbills, gadwalls, widgeon, cans, etc should already be in North Dakota now or in the next five or six days.

shot another 2 man limit today, grn heads and drake pintails and a solo buffie....my buddy couldnt resist. birds werent moving as well today as they were yesterday. morning started out 52 degrees then by noon it was 35 degrees.

we drove around yesterday evening and saw couple groups of field hunters and some kayak hunters. lots of feeds. snows in nearly every other field, but interestingly we didnt see any migrating birds come in so these birds have been here for a week now. birds are still feeding in wheat/barley. saw a 4k feed of mallards in soybean field. there are even corn fields harvested yet birds arent using them yet.

good luck! our freezers full of 36 big birds. onto south dakota for pheasants tomorrow.

I just returned on Saturday from north central ND. All birds were feeding in wheat fields. Had permission for a few harvested corn fields but the birds never used them. Now I hear the snows are showing up in numbers, can’t win sometimes. Still a great time.

first time using the table. worked great thought we would need it to put the dog on turned out the water was ankle deep where we hid. so we used it for morning coffee gun cases shell bags. sits great upside down in the old boat. flat spot for the dogs to ride on as well

Arrived yesterday, shot 2 ducks this morning. Real slow with warm and no wind. Took a nap on the porch this afternoon in short sleeves.

Birds here are highly educated, seen it all. New customers will prob arrive this weekend when I have to leave. McIntosh county

Agreed. I was able to gut out limits but had to do some long sits. Weather did not help at all but there just are not that many birds around. I know there are birds in Canada still but I just don think there are the number of ducks there used to be regadless of what the counts say. Up until about 10 years ago the duck numbers were always very strong in late October really regardless of the weather. Pressure plays a roll but we dont even see the number of ducks we used to on areas where farmers wont let hunters hunt.
