How Long Did Take You To Get Into Single Reeds?

Dale’s calls(perfect hen and gumbo) are very good for shy gadwall in the brakes. I’m not talking about his gray duck specific call, as I don’t own one of his but I suspect it’s good as well. I’ve really taken up with the Kirk McCullough cut down key hole.

My RNT stays on my landyard also. Yes it does work good at Reelfoot. I do have a problem with it sticking sometimes.

Fresh cork can be your friend.

I sent it to RNT prior to last season and that helped but I still had some sticking problems. I think too much moisture. I am not one to tune a duck call.

New cork takes less than 60 seconds and makes it much less prone to stick. As a cork flattens with time and use, the reed lays flatter to the tone board and sticks easier. Changing it a few times per season helps a lot.

I buy it from RNT. Usually buy a bulk bag on the odd occasion when I’m in Stuttgart.
