I made it to Life as well. Same story as HonkerExtreme! I had all my merit badges I just didn’t do my service project . I was in Order or the Arrow, Went to Philmont in 1995. Lots of great memories were made in Scouting. I worked at our districts summer camp and taught several different merit badges. It’s really a shame what it is today!

Like 2eagles both my boys made it to Eagle scout. Huge on their resume now that they are in the workforce. They got alot of their requirements done at summer camp where a lot of the older boy and girl scouts were doing the teaching. I was the Scoutmaster for 4 years while they were in. After they were done I stepped back and let other leaders take the reins. Steve

made to Life level, and Order of the Arrow.
was in scouting on Long Island. 2 of my brothers made Eagle. My scout master was a district /area chairman.
We were a true back packing troop, no trailers
Did the Philmont and Maine Matagamon trips, and spent many summers at Baiting Hollow, BSA camp.
Good times.

I was a Life Scout and Member of Order of the Arrow.

Went to Philmont and stood next to my father on Mt Baldy and the Tooth of time. Fond memories of that trip.

Many Point Scout Camp every summer for years.

But like others, once high school activities got rolling my scouting career fell apart. I assisted with the Eagle Scout projects of a couple of my friends, but that was as close as I got.

I never made it past second class and then we moved so that was that. My son, however, made Eagle after we had to prod him a lot at the end. He had a douchebag scoutmaster and was involved with SGA, band, pony league baseball, scouts, confirmation class at church, camping, and canoeing with me. I thought he was going to explode. Last year we went to an Eagle ceremony for my nephew's boy and they called all of the Eagle scouts in the audience up to sit on the stage. Pretty neat. I gave him a collectible .22 rifle as a gift.

Eagle here '99. Never did Philmont, but survived summers at camp Tallaha. If you could make it throught a week there, you could survive anything. My son just started cub scouts and God willing we'll try to see him all the way through. Not gonna get my panties in too much of a twist about current politics. One of the good things about living in a place nobody cares about is that you can pretty much continue things as is with little outside interference.

made it to Life and Order of the Arrow, then my scoutmaster moved and the troop fell apart. Regret not finishing for sure. This was back in the late 70's early 80's, very different organization then.
