“Boy, the geese decoyed right in today”
I heard from a buddy that happened. Is that a real story? At a refuge? And they checked it in?
Yes, yes and no I think they were approached in the field at their blind.
“Thought it was a snow goose.”
Going to need a bigger duck strap.
I saw a couple of snows get shot at a grasslands refuge this morning.
Some years back a fuge member told me he was standing at the sac. check station talking to a warden, looking west toward the point pond, when a couple of them "great big snows" came across Norman doing the pump and glide. All of a sudden, one folds, warden shook his head, and headed out...
Not sure why the warden's are smiling about a poached protected bird? Fat ticket maybe?
Little avian fun fact. Did you know that the pelican has the slowest wing beat of any bird that is able to fly.
Heard the stooges that shot the pelican had multiple violations. Hopefully they won’t be on the refuges for a while
Are you kidding the state probably put them in the loop permanently. Cash cow needs it’s pennies.
read on FB a few snows died today at San Luis.
