I saw a couple geese get killed... One on a neighboring club, and one driving out. The geese were stupid today (which does not make sense with all the shooting), and I imagine a few got killed.

While ignorance is no excuse, if someone had not told me, I would not have known or guessed that geese were closed the last days of duck season, and it probably would not have occurred to me to look in the regs. That is not a violation I would be calling in.

I’m curious about the Pelican situation. Assuming the neighboring blind couldn’t identify the guy who actually shot the pelican. If you’re hunting in a group and you’re not in possession of the pelican, and everyone in your group keeps their mouth shut, how does a Warden write you a ticket? Who gets the ticket?

Don’t get me wrong, at least one of those guys deserves what’s coming, but legally speaking, how does a Warden write that ticket?

Everyone please feel free to chime in, but I’ll wait to hear from the California Forum Legal Counsel (ie Bennet) for the correct answer.

Yep, seems like most county courts end up throwing out (or at least severely reducing) DFW citations. Don’t know if that’s the case with federal citations in federal courts though... Pretty sure the wardens in that picture are feds.

Tuesday morning around 8:30 I was driving on Hwy 299 East west of Redding. Near the turn off to Oak Run Road about a mile apart were 3 separate dead swans on the side of the road. One was laying belly up and an obvious red spot on the chest. There was a construction road block ahead with slow traffic and I was able to get a good look at it driving by it.

Makes you wonder the story behind that.

Not true, only one was and they were one of the last guys off the refuge. Supposedly only one goose was brought in on the Sac complex.
