I’ve shot 2’s, 3’s, and 4’s out of mine. 3’s and 4’s are they way to go and as you suggested, the 4’s do look better on paper. I’ve been shooting on a case of PMC, 3’s that I got really cheap and they pattern good at 35 yards but open up pretty quickly after that. When I’m hunting in the woods, just been shooting some of the 2.75” Winchester super X 4’s.

Beretta 390 20 ga. Gun really likes 3" Drylok 2s out of a LM choke. Ive also got a bunch of hevishot from when rogers had it for $10/box years ago if I want to goose hunt with it.

As far as choosing the 3’s over the 4’s, that’s more of a field hunting thing and I’ve not had any luck with 3’s in 2.75”. I’m also shooting Carlson Tru-Chokes in LM and IM.

I run a Citori 20. Remington Hypersteel is actually what has impressed me the most so far, 4 shot is what I look for. Looking to get Jebs chokes in very tight constrictions (555-565) and then will look at a bismuth or tungsten in 4-6 shot.

I have an old Rem 20ga 1100 that I'll shoot from time to time.
I put a light modified choke in it and shoot Kent 7/8 ounce #4's.
I think Kent has come out with 1 ounce loads now that I'd like to try
