Got a new law on the books in Virginia that stops landowners or their designee from baiting in order to prevent lawful hunting.:fp Check out House bill 486, Lingamfelter. This stops landowners from baiting in order to keep hunters from legally hunting public waters.:doh Has been an issue for many years as this was a loophole in the legal system. We now have it fixed. Violators face a class 3 misdemeanor charge with fines of $500.00 per incidennt and will carry over to federal laws on baiting as well.:clap A real double dipper.:bow Hope that some of you will attempt to get this law passed in your area as well.:reader If youu have any questions on this bill contact adustydawg on the VA forum. Thanks and shoot em when the feet are down:dv:

That is a good law. Groups like PETA can also bait public ground, closing it to every one.

What’s the difference between baiting and purposely flooding standing corn?

My group has begun urban duck hunting. We coordinate with local law enforcement and State wildlife, they know when, where and who. We stay away from houses, clean up any trash we find and mostly harvest unwanted feral mallards. We video everything start to finish. Only had one issue with a city pd. The lawyer we hunt with sent the video to the mayor along with highlighted copies of both the Federal and State Hunter harrassment laws. We were polite and cooperative and totally legal. We stopped hunting that spot out of consideration for others. We figured it out so can you.
