Embiggening is coming along. Length has increased from 8’ 8” to 10’ 8”, and the transom is now 50” rather than the standard 44”. That put the hp factor up to 44 so with the hard chimes it’ll be rated for 7.5 hp rather than 2 hp.

Interested to see how the extension works out for you. Please post an update once it gets a water trial.

Got an 8ft version myself that is just to small for me to run a mud motor on, and my 5hp briggs sucked the *** end under when i put it in reverse when i tried it.

-Epoxied foam sheet over cockpit frame
-Flipped, filled holes/gaps, and fiberglassed bottom of hull, added fiberglass tape at extension seams and double fiberglass tape at all corners
-Finished with double coat of epoxy with graphite

Forgot to add that I ground down and patched two delam spots with 6 feathered layers of 7 oz cloth and epoxy, before covering the entire bottom hull with a layer of 7 oz cloth

Bif96 -- I'm excited to get it floating, too. I've been using a Swamp Runner Mini with a 125 cc Briggs but looking to upgrade to a Small with probably a 212 cc Predator. I guess it's probably a good thing those longtails don't have reverse!

It ended up taking 1750 lbs to swamp it (could have been more but keeping a level float was tough), which equates to a 350 lb max load and a 2 person max.

I ran it empty with my 3.5 hp mini swamp runner and got 10 mph.

Do you have any info on that 125cc briggs that fits the mini swamp runner? I have one but have the 79cc predator on it. I tried google but am not seeing a 125cc briggs that would fit.

Hi darkvibe —

Should have written 127 cc sorry for the typo. This model comes mostly with a 3/4” shaft but you can find ones with the 5/8” to fit the mini. Here’s what I found:
