Kinda like "Vice President Pence, Yes or No, Do you still beat your wife?"
Any of you Baby Boomer age guys remember when candidates ran on their platform and not on how bad they think the other candidates suck?
I don't remember anything.
I don't fit neatly within the "boomer" category so you can take this for what it's worth, but actually, it's nothing new. It's been SOP pretty much since the founding, especially during contentious times. I'd probably argue it's rare to have any extended period where the opposite was true. Only the "acceptable" norms change. Neither current candidate is a great orator, and when they can't clearly and convincingly lift everyone to a higher standard their only choice is to drag their opponent (and us) into the mud.
Also, everyone pretty much knows where they stand on the issues.
Pence mopped the floor with The Hoe.
Remember last Fall when she was running for president, she polled at about 4 %? She just doesn't seem capable. Pence, I know, is the best debater of the 4 candidates. But come on, she just didn't get beyond prepared statements, some of which were wrong, BTW. I watched Pence's debate with Tim Kaine; he beat Harris even worse than he did our empty suit senator.
It certainly would be a unfortunate day , when Harris would be called to be the president of the US ! Unprepared would be a overstatement , to manage
the world ! She hasn't a Clue !
Some folks naturally live in the moment by the seat of the pants and have no clue about the meaning of leadership accountability and the nature of being an executive. Those most critical of executive acumen self identify themselves as being members of the seat of the pants genre.
I agree , so far a president wearing pants has been our leader ! Just one with NO experience of Leadership , one who has demonstrated she can talk her
way around a subject without know squat , about what she's talking about , is not a future president we need in these pandemic times !
I wish no one ill health. That said, Joe Biden doesn't have four years to live. He doesn't have the where with all to be president right now. If he wins, Harris will be our 47th president. It also seems a good many of our countrymen are fine with it.
