I understand the appeal of building a blind but I wouldn't wanna advertise to other people that the hole is worth hunting.

Even if natural vegetation you are supposed to tear it down for 2 main reasons, first if someone sets up in the dark and come shooting time there is poorly built blinds next to them that they didn't see. Second is for next year when they are planting or mowing they don't want well built blinds they they will either have to tear down or if big enough limbs are used cause damage to machinery.

How can anybody be so fking dumb as to knock down a hide wide open just because they didnt get to it first? If i want to hunt somebodies hide im not going to destroy it im going to use it. And Im gonna hide the entrance to it when I leave it. Just how the last person did. Im not going to hunt a spot and then when im done be a petty little pos and destroy it on my way out. And also dear deer gun hunters, stop basing your entire deer season on 1 week per year and then getting pissed off when somebody already has a stand in “your spot”. Maybe instead of stealing it or taking it down you can just hunt out of it. Is that too logical??? If you want to hunt a spot then hunt it and leave other peoples sht alone in the process.

I hunted my central Ohio private spot for just over a decade and after it sold last year have a hard time motivating to fool with public anymore. I was getting weary always having to think about Plans A, B, C and D at 4:00 am.

Well hell But im young and I dont do that. Its like I said ill just hunt it myself if nobody else is. And then leave it so I can hunt it again at a later date all while thanking whoever made it for making it.

I didn't say all young guys do that.....but I promise it ain't some guy my age taking the time or energy to tear chit up.

I guess I’m in the camp of tear it down or take it down yourself when you leave.

1) I don’t want to look at your pos blind when you’re not there.

2) you don’t own the spot. So building a blind in that location implies ownership. Like you said “public”

3) I don’t want to announce to anyone that I hunt in that spot. There are enough boom scouters that try to find your hide locations so they can get there before you without giving them a blind to find.

So, if it was me, and I stumbled upon “your” blind on public ground in my state, and I chose to hunt out of it for a day, ima tear it down and scatter its remains to the wind when I leave.

In MN the DNR will remove them from public land. Blinds dear stands, don’t matter can’t be left behind. If you do it’s at your own risk.

The sense of entitlement is strong with some here.

I usually walk a mile or more back into public lands where lazy folks with bad attitudes usually don’t ever make it that far. The ones that do walk that far are very happy to see a natural blind already in place. In fact, last season someone added brush to it AND picked up “most“ of their hulls.
