I hunted my central Ohio private spot for just over a decade and after it sold last year have a hard time motivating to fool with public anymore. I was getting weary always having to think about Plans A, B, C and D at 4:00 am.

Thats what sucks about my predicament on the marsh today. It doesnt matter if others see it. Or if they hunt it. Or whatever. I build these blinds so that theres a place to hide when I head there at 6 am. Finding out somebody completely trashed it at some point then leaves me rushing to figure out what to do next since that was my primary plan. Now im rushing, the water temps are frigid, this is where accidents happen.

I usually walk a mile or more back into public lands where lazy folks with bad attitudes usually don’t ever make it that far. The ones that do walk that far are very happy to see a natural blind already in place. In fact, last season someone added brush to it AND picked up “most“ of their hulls.

Amen.... Bad attitude speaks volumes....

I guess it just takes years of wisdom to be able to look at somebodies blind and say “yup, im gonna hunt this and be grateful for whoever made it for me”

I would indeed.....but if we killed a bunch of ducks out of it... I'd tear it down in a heart beat so nobody saw it. THAT'S public hunting.

No, you don't understand. If it was me, and not you, that spent a few hours building the blind, and then a miracle happened and I killed a duck, I would tear it down before I left. I have stood under ALOT of ducks as they fell out of the sky, over 53 years, on public ground. I would never leave a trail on where that is.

How can anybody be so fking dumb as to knock down a hide wide open just because they didnt get to it first? If i want to hunt somebodies hide im not going to destroy it im going to use it. And Im gonna hide the entrance to it when I leave it. Just how the last person did. Im not going to hunt a spot and then when im done be a petty little pos and destroy it on my way out. And also dear deer gun hunters, stop basing your entire deer season on 1 week per year and then getting pissed off when somebody already has a stand in “your spot”. Maybe instead of stealing it or taking it down you can just hunt out of it. Is that too logical??? If you want to hunt a spot then hunt it and leave other peoples sht alone in the process.
