Years ago I tied fly's semi commercially for a couple stores and taught fly tying classes. Used to pay for my rods and materials that way I have more than I could ever use in a couple lifetimes but seem to have to buy odds and ends once in awhile. Anyway back to the story on this post. I ran out of a certain fly I tie and have to roll up a couple dozen for this season. If I had known my eyes and fingers wouldn't work, my back wouldn't hurt at the vise I would have tied a couple hundred of each 20 years ago when it only took me a minute or two.. Anyway I got a dozen or so done and had to take a break they don't look as good as the ones I tied years ago but they will work.

Maybe that's why I like to troll for laker's now and fish for smallies during the summer now .

I often wonder if the last time I did something, be it hiking to a mountain lake, decoying divers on the Snake River or bear hunting, would be the last time I got to go. I've been sidelined with some health issues since October, only went fishing once in November, never went duck hunting and haven't bear hunted since 2016. I have the same issue woodcarving and painting, arthritis and eyesight makes things tough more days than not. The spirit is willing, but sometimes I either don't have the time or energy. You never know when the last time will be the last time. I've determined to not care about time anymore, i get done when I get done.

I've felt that way with deer I, dragging out you never know when your last will be. It wont be today though since I've gotta take my daughter for a turkey hunt this coming weekend. Plus I've gotta a really cool picture of a huge rock imbedded in a tree I've gotta take next time I go fishing.
