Fed Black Cloud TSS is a blend of Steel BB and 7 TSS.

At $6 a round, price is definitely overkill.

1450fps
55 BB Steel 3/4 oz
93 #7 TSS 1/2 oz
Total 148 pellets
75% pattern estimate 110 pellets

This seems to be double the pellets needed for goose. Any good reason to replicate a load like this or is this round overkill?

I thought 80-90 pellets was recommended for geese. At any rate that would be a 50 yard goose load on big honks.

1.25oz of bb steel is about 88-90 pellets, total load, 70% pattern at 40yards is 63 pellets on target

The BBsteel/tss7 kill geese at normal ranges, and long distance. They should be about $4.00/round from most sites. They may come down in price in the later off season. I picked up mine (pre covid) for $1.89/round

This is somewhat of a replica handload of the same, (b steel, tss 7’s, flight stopper wad, Federal hull, primer, powder, Maxus 2, Cremator LongRange Choke Improved Mod, 40yards, off hand)

The other picture is a 1 9/16 oz factory load of BB steel Fio

Not an option for me, online deals. At least I can still buy components.

I use a 1/4oz of tss in my duplex loads and am very happy with the results. The price seems high but the shell seems solid.

It doesn't look like over kill to me for killing geese.

Geese can be hard to kill even at 30 yards if the shot angle is not good.

All depends on your goal. I think it is totally overkill for everyday hunting, shooting whatever birds are in range over decoys. Steel 1s or BBs work great for that.

If you are trying to target specific birds and want to be able to reach extra distance, they are worth it. I have used them quite a bit for this specific application and they are definitely lethal much farther than steel.
