Is Sitka Really Worth It?

I have gotten to the point where I prefer to by something I can rely on 99% of the time. I buy high quality, ammo, firearm and clothes, and since I take care of things properly they last. I have several Sitka items, some are 7 years old. I've had zippers fail and got them replaced at no cost besides shipping.

My suggestion, go somewhere you can try the products on. Some of the garments have slightly different fits but more importantly the outer fabrics differ. Depending on what your hunting environment is, you may not want to use a Fahrenheit jacket because it will get caught and rip in briars or similar. Their worth the investment in my opinion and as someone else said, they have great deals at the end of the season. I will be buying waders next year, because I am over the 1.5 seasons I get with my other breathable waders.

I have had lots of different gore tex /high quality clothing brands over the years.

Sitka is on par with Cabelas brush buster gore tex line from a few years back. The cabelas line was about 30% less in price.
The beretta ducker gore tex line was better than the sitka. It was also priced a bit less.

sitka seems over priced compared, but since they are the only duck hunting clothing with gore tex they can get those prices. Drake and banded are using their own fabric that is not as good as gore tex

It's a self-fulfilling thing.

If you think it's worth it, it will be.

If you don't, you won't.

I don't regret a single penny I've ever spent on hunting gear. Some of it may have been over-priced but I could of spent it on something else that doesn't mean much to me.

In fairness, most modern hunting gear is light-years ahead of things even 10 years ago, let alone 25 years ago.

To me it’s worth it. I hate being cold and it works to keep me warm and dry in normal waterfowling practices.

I think it’s funny when people say, I won’t pay the full price, I got it on sale, etc.... who cares, buy what you want and spend what you want, I don’t care what people think of me or what I do or buy. Lol. How much $ do you have wrapped up in a gun, mud boat rig, truck, decoys, etc...?

You only live once, but the dam Sitka jacket or waders! Even if it’s made in China, just like 98% of everything in The waterfowl clothing world

I've asked most every Sitka jacket owner through my blind, as well as many others encountered in one, about it with mixed response - depending largely on usage.

I've got some Sitka pieces that I would immediately replace if I lost them. Delta jacket, which I wear year round in wet weather and have yet to get wet while wearing. Dakota vest. Dakota hoody.

I just looked at their website and without owning any of it I'm going to be that guy and say hell no it isn't worth it. $1000 waders, $400 rain jackets, $650 "parkas", $280 vests. It's just another North Face like company. Great looking website, cool logo, beautiful ads, cool camo patterns, good looking models and Americans with plastic. You've got to give it to them. For the money I would expect their stuff to last a minimum 20+ years for the average wearer.

I can't imagine what some people would spend if they were faced with real cold and extreme weather. I'll stick with my 12+ year old $50 gander mountain rain jacket that has never leaked.

To each their own. It's your money, not mine.
