Sears duck call my buddy has. Had no idea they made duck calls too.
That's very sweet!!!!
Great looking old call!
They were all licensing on contract manufacturing. But Sears and Montgomery Wards were both big department stores with some merchandise for every purpose in the house. The shop for the car, appliances for kitchen, clothes, sporting goods, they were Walmart before Walmart but for various reasons they could not compete as consumer tastes and preferences changed.
I've worked on Sears homes.
These were popular.
In the older days, VL&A, Abercrombie & Fitch, and several other large retailers, usually ones that sold via catalog contracted smaller makers to brand calls for them to sell.
I have done the research on that call before, but don't recall who the actual maker was right now.
Example, This is a Mallardtone from A&F
Charles Perdew made this one for VL&A (Von Lengerke & Antoinne) of Chicago.
Iverson made calls for Abercrombie and Fitch. I have a couple.
Picked this one up awhile back
