Okay folks! I did this several years ago and it was fun.
The question is, How many species of legally huntable waterfowl have been taken in WASHINGTON STATE?

I got 39. But I get the feeling that I'm missing one...
I'm including the three mergansers and a king eider taken up by Lummi Island a few decades ago.

Might want to include the emperor goose that was shot last season in Padilla Bay. Don't know if it was legal, but one of the two was harvested.

What's legal today vs legal in the past will factor in. As well as sub species.
Emp is on my list.

First I've heard of this.

As far as I know it's NOT a legal goose for hunting. It is not included in the waterfowl regs so it's not legal by default. SO, for this thread don't count it until we can get the WDFW police to say it's legal.

On duck hunting chat years ago someone posted 3 paradise shelducks they shot off the coast. If I remember right there were no aviary bands on them either but I’m sure they escaped from someone’s house.
