Just How Dry Is It?

Posted this over on our instagram page earlier today, but figured I'd share it here as well. Processed Sentinel-2 satellite imagery.

Side-by-side images of the Missouri boot heel around Ten Mile Pond, 12/6/21 compared to 12/1/22.

Blues = moist soil & shallow water (puddles, flooded fields, moist soil)
Black = deep water (lakes, rivers, etc.)
Green = dry plant life

Astounding how dry it is this year, compared to last.

Although I've never lived in the neighborhood of Truman lake the other day it was the lowest I've ever seen it

I find the website useful. Especially when trying to remember what previous years conditions were like, when my memory can mislead me sometimes.

I can't remember all the details of their index without looking it up. But I believe it is a measure of a combination of rainfall, river levels, soil moisture, and maybe another thing or two. Somewhere on the website they have the information.

The Corp reduced gavins point discharge to 14,000 cfps .this week.Which means alot more sand bars to.hunt.

I was on the Mo river this past weekend and very few Ducks and no Geese using the river, not cold enough yet I guess.
