Timber Hole: I suspect most Kansas posters don’t care about the state’s revenue picture. It’s that Outfitters and taxes have surfaced as their flavor of the month. They’ll bounce on to something else in April.

Always happy to see a barber or hairdresser, I get angry when I see an outfitter

Barbers and waitresses aren't consuming massive amounts of natural resources for profit. They want to claim it's a real job, they can pay taxes and be regulated.

A “No Tax Due” letter from your DOR requirement to get an outfitter license would not be a big deal. Pull them all the time for clients renewing liquor and miscellaneous state and local business licenses.

If these guides are making as much money as everyone claims what makes anyone think a $2,000 license will slow them down? Is your primary goal now to increase the states revenue?
It won’t slow them down at 400$/gun per day or a deer hunt starting at $1K day average.

The outfitter license will cover the perceived lost revenue you and Ol Critter among others, continually jaw about when NR are restricted. See all the banter about NR Turkey restrictions…..

Good luck with your proposed outfitter license fees. For realistic guidance you might check license fees for Kansas doctors, lawyers, brokers, accountants, dentists, architects and the like. You’re way off base, as usual.

Question: did the committee meeting address when the water is coming to fill the bottoms back up for all the non-residents already packed and ready to roll? Any potential rain dances involved on the video stream?

Just asking for a friend who was planning on coming back out this year.

I was out there for state basketball a couple weeks ago. The amount of dust blowing in that area was crazy. Hit a big tumbleweed that blew out of the ditch near Ellinwood. That was a first for me.
