Bottoms will never have water again, agency is going to sell it for $700 an acre to recover the NR Turkey tag revenue loss. It was a good ride while it lasted. Stay tuned for the slate creek renovation, will put Cheyenne bottoms to shame when it’s done. 2500 acres of flooded corn and Milo.

It won’t slow them down at 400$/gun per day or a deer hunt starting at $1K day average.

The outfitter license will cover the perceived lost revenue you and Ol Critter among others, continually jaw about when NR are restricted. See all the banter about NR Turkey restrictions…..
I can easily see it with turkeys.....they don't migrate. But ducks and geese? Nah....they don't belong to Kansas. Hell, that state neither breeds nor winters any ducks that would matter to anyone. I'm still amazed at you guys pushing for more regulation.....WE HAVE ENOUGH REGULATION.

A true statement.
That's one more reason my solution is a good one.

We have no regulation here. That's the problem. Mud motors everywhere all hours. People taking up residence in boats, parking lots, islands, dikes, blah blah blah. It's insanity. The Bottoms and other public WMAs have gone to the crapper with what's been allowed to happen. If you can walk, row, paddle, you can go anywhere. If you can't, then you have to figure out another option. Again, the Department shouldn't be trying to make everyone happy so people can get their hunts in a can. If you know how to hunt, you will find a way. If you scout, you can hunt. BUT....there's no reason to allow the resource to get pounded into oblivion. You can see the correlation between degradation and MMs, OOS Pressure, Guides, etc. There are regulations that can be implemented and should be. WMA managers are frustrated with how much work they put in, only to see it relegated to chit. No fruits for their labor until spring migration. Guys who hunted here 15 years ago, know exactly what I'm talking about.

I hunted ND last year. I've lived in the Dakotas for nearly a decade. I'm not sure I'll ever go back to ND. Start looking at other options. I'd never seen so many OOS hunters (including me) in all my time up there. I was hunting the most private, obscure, roughest, out-of-the-way place you could find and I still saw multiple OOS trucks bouncing down the trail and cutting across fields. It was unreal.

Who in their right mind would think a state doesn't have the authority or RESPONSIBILITY to restrict and manage access when the resources are pushed to the limit? Address the source of the problem (OOS pressure / unregulated guide services). I don't care about reciprocity, that's GREAT if states want to do that! I respect SD, ND, AR and any other states that work hard to manage. If that means I can't hunt there, I'm fine with that.

I think that's right.

I like to have fun with you guys, but only because I've been there. You ain't fighting these forkers. They don't even fight back, they just ignore you. There is only one driving force anymore....money. In our state, it was the 1/8th cent sales tax that allowed our MDC to no longer be beholding to the outdoor consumptive user. Now we share with birders, bikers, hikers, horseback riders, and various other activities that have nothing to do with hunting. No amount of protesting by us made a bit of difference.....all we ended up with was lip service.

You all are more likely to awaken a sleeping giant....landowners who have deep pockets. You are actually proposing telling them how to use their land or, at the very least, you want more regulations on them. You're going to get a giant middle finger out of that....and you don't have the resources to fight it.
Don't forget the MDC's latest brain storm! They've decided to build fake rock walls for the rock climbers! Mined you none of rock climbers money goes to support this like hunters and fisherman money does when they pursue their passions!

IMO reducing bag limits won’t get much traction. Private hunters will have no interest in something less than the Federal framework. Maybe public hunters too.

Missouri is funded through sales tax so I would guess some of their money goes to it.
