Any uncut reed will work in a Lares, but they need the dog ear if they are longer than 1.330 or they seem to want to air lock.
Don't sell yourself short.Been calling since 85, but didn't learn much about call operation until I started messing with contests in the early-mid 2000's. Practicing for calling contests and getting feedback from judges changed virtually everything I was doing with air presentation. I never finished better than 3rd in the state contest or any sanctioned regional though. Got a few plaques that say I was never good enough to win at mainstreet...just Ok.
I've learned a few things since I quit though. Might try again one of these years, but at almost fifty my motivation to win isn't there and you have to want it. I'd just be donating entry fees.
RNT, and Echo do pretty well for being "primative".If you think you can be primitive and use scissors and cork to do better LOL
I’ve made many a Lares call sound better for people by hand cutting a reed for them.If you think you can be primitive and use scissors and cork to do better LOL
I’d say Stump does pretty well for himself that way too. Oh wait, maybe he’s “advanced” because he uses an Emory board too lolRNT, and Echo do pretty well for being "primative".
It's amazing what can be accomplished with ancient primative tools. I don't see how he can make a duck call without the Lares advanced super duper technologyI’d say Stump does pretty well for himself that way too. Oh wait, maybe he’s “advanced” because he uses an Emory board too lol
I'll be your huckle bearer. If you think you can be primitive and use scissors and cork to do better LOL
