i wonder what year the hybrid came out?
I remember the first time I saw one in a sporting goods store. I was in there because they had Iversen reeds and I asked to try the “medium sized” Lares call :l (never knew it existed at that point all they offered was A5 and T-1.)
I hit it a couple times and thought yeah, meh, ok. A guy came across from the other side of the store and asked what call was THAT? Then he bought it :l.
When I bought my A5 it was about 19 years ago. It immediately replaced my wood RNT Original. The next season I bought a T-1.
Nowadays it’s funny to see the hybrid with such popularity. I have never really been interested.

I’ve been here since 05. IIRC the Hybrid came out a year or so later? I could be way off though.

If I think back that seems about right. I’m pretty sure I bought T-1 in 05. I wish I would have paid for checkering on the A5, but I was too cheap!

The hybrids fine, just a tad smoother than the T1, the A5 is fine too. Haven’t dialed in a Mag Hen yet. Might have to do that this summer.

It’s been a long time since I got this. The “go to” A5. I need to get a back up. View attachment 380747
Ok @grahler was able to find an A5 all black matte and a mag hen this weekend brand new. You can find your back up now. Found a company close to Brett that had some in stock and were willing to ship. Completes what I've wanted in the lares collection for now.

Considering Branson's young age, he might set the record for youngest Speck Calling World Champ to have to retire from "winning out" on the World Champion stage.
You go Branson!

Yep, California has more Specks than our ten per day limit and late extended season can make a dent in.

Upper Duck has individual reeds for Lares.
if they have them in stock....and $4 a reed plus shipping i will pass. whoever voted for this 2020 F show screwed everybody on everything

I paid $50 for every reed they make in September, I thought it worked out pretty well, tried different ones till I found one I liked!
