Last Bird of the Season

tried to finish the season with 7 drakes and no spoons. First bird i shot that morning was a spoon drake. Finished with 6 more drakes, 4 greenwings, a bull sprig, and a wig. Green wing was my last of the season. Taking my nephew out for jr weekend. Hope we get on some. Only hunting until 10ish bc he has to get back for a hs dance.

Last up of the season was the first time I tripled on drake mallards. Never done that before, so thought it was a good one to end on. Might be my dogs last season, and if so, i will remember that one forever. She made two great retrieves in thick cover on two of the three.

Mallard drake at about 12:55pm yesterday for me. Packed up and drove about 90 miles home on ice covered roads with boat in tow. It was all worth it. Looking forward to next season already!
