Hey guys, i have a big swamp that has been loaded with geese usually from 12-5pm every day. I plan to hunt them but wondering, would you even bring any decoys, and/or call? Or just sit and let them come in. I've had bad luck in late season with geese flaring off decoys. So wanted some inputs. Thanks

We kill geese over decoys until mid-end of February and I don’t have that experience. But if that worries you don’t use decoys go get where they get down and shoot them. I personally would use some decoys to get them to line up where I want them.

Thanks, Definitely planning to bring a few and as mentioned...if it goes south then get rid of them.

I've usually worked late season birds right after legal shooting time well, but haven't really set up on a mid-day afternoon hunt before.

I would definitely bring deks. (Don’t know how far your trek in is?) But if you have seen them in there, just mimic what you have seen (ex: sleepers, resters etc) and adjust to find what works…

Thanks fellas. The day was good, but not great. Got out at 11am and set up, right at noon had a flock of a dozen come working but they hit on the bordering property off the swamp behind a thick hedgerow (wind was stiff 15 mph from NW). Had 2 pairs of decoys set up on opposite ends. At 1:30 a single came in hot, honking his head off. bang bang. That was fun to hunt and not wake up at 4am to do so. Going again as this is the last week and probably stay out til late.
