Sacramento, Fallon Nv and Bandon Or.
Tejas you’re going to get hammered in local taxes, fees, utility bills, etc- equal to or harder in some of the other so called low tax states.

Our politics and ever increasing amount of bums, garbage and felons are indeed buzz kill for our nice weather though.
Can you elaborate on the first part? Seriously not being belligerent or anything just wondering where this applies? I've owned/own homes in four states, CA., ID , NV and OR.. California is the oldest house by 40 years, smallest and not in a bay area price point by any means. Always told SMUD was the cheapest electricity you could find, prop 13 rates are Bueno and so on. Current property tax is lower by a little in Cali but we've been there for 28 years. In California our home owners, vehicle, registration, utilities are far higher. Grocery prices are cheaper here for me today in tiny little Bandon than shopping in Sacramento. Fuel is much cheaper in Oregon and Nevada. I do not have any extra fees that I can find for any of those states. Comcast internet speed is way faster in Carmichael and we pay dearly for that too. Oregon no sales tax, Nevada no income tax. Left coast politics suck no matter what state and leaving that out but we all know which one you can't easily buy guns and ammo in.

To the guys leaving out of state... did you just abandon your parents and family or did they come with you? My wife and I just cant up and leave our jobs, parents, whole life...Its just not that simple.
It is 100% simple. When I married my wife she became my responsibility and not the rest of my family. When we had kids it became even more simple. My sole responsibility is to take care of my wife and my three kids. It is not my responsibility to take care of everyone else while my kids suffer in a ****hole state. I could care less what my aunt or my in laws have to deal with or anyone else in my family has to deal with when it comes to my wife and kids. This is exactly why my wife and I made the decision to leave that place and we have bettered our family and will never go back. And we determined that our jobs and our salaries were not more important than our kids and who we are.

Have been out of California close to two years. I understand everyone's situation is different. Gave Washington, Idaho and Nevada a hard look but don't want to deal with the cold winters, tire chains, studded tires, shoveling snow, cutting fire wood, etc. in retirement. Been there done that ...I am over it
Current location: new construction home 1900 sf 4/2 was a about 1/2 price of comparable home in Lodi.
vehicle registration no smog for car $32.00
vehicle registration 3/4 diesel truck no smog no weight $32.00. 15 minutes in DMV
No luxury tax on boat.
diesel last fill up $3.89 per gallon
regular unleaded $3.39 per gallon.
Electricity $119 a month A/C NEST set at 77
Garbage $16.00 a month for weekly service
Water $50.00 month running sprinklers 3 times a week. Sewer. $49.00 per month.
No state income tax on pension.
Property tax second lowest in the US.
Home Insurance $1,700.00 a year includes wind and hail/hurricane.
Great neighbors and neighborhood. One couple from Modesto and one from Santa Cruz.
Cheap cruise ships out of Florida.
Open carry...no cc required. Gun friendly.
Some humidity but I am on the coast, beach and not working in it. Every place has A/C
People here worry about tornadoes and hurricanes about as much as people in California worry about earthquakes.
All the waitresses call you honey or sugar...most kids address adults as sir or ma'am.
No tent cities.

It's not perfect and maybe not for everyone but it working out great for now. There is life outside of California.... :)

Difference is some wives are leaders of the families and the "men" follow along... you know the "happy wives, happy lives" group of "men."... most of them can't fathom pushing back against thier wives and leading thier families to a new area that would ultimately benefit them because it's "scary" or has inclimate weather..... baby poo soft excuses riddled in fear IMO.

Not worth discussing. Pay like everyone else or don't hunt. On the bright side juniors get a break.
What a crap response. He was commenting/complaining like we all do here but it was about the always increasing fees (for less hunting).

My wife was the driving force for us leaving and I understand not wanting to leave family - we just deal with it as needed and visit more.

Senior combo 2yr license is $26, deer $25, speed goat $36, elk $36.

My '18 Duramax registration 2 yrs ago was going to be $880, here it was $270 for 2 yrs.

When we moved, I didnt tell CA DMV that I did and they fined me %100 for not notifying them. That is a warning for future transplants.

Someone has to pay for reparations....o_O

Heck on the right deer permit I could shoot 3 deer for 37, ducks, geese and upland for another 37, and a turkey for another 37. Only gripe about back here is there ain't hardly any specks and the limit is two

I didn't say anything about leaving the state. Talk to your wife about that. I don't like the politics in this state anymore than
anyone else, but not gonna run away from it.

Many years ago people were running away from other states to California as it had a lot to offer.
That is not so true today. People are leaving for the same reasons ...there is alot to offer elsewhere.
