I know a guy who hunted with perch eyes when we were staying in minnewaukan at one of mcquoids houses. He didn’t have layouts and was using field edges for cover. No a frame just hunkering down in the grass. His field spread was a joke. We limited out freelancing that day and the guys who went with Jason shot a few.

That was 10–15 years ago so he very well may have changed his operation. I’d suggest asking some questions before you book with him. He is a decent enough guy and great fishing guide but at that time he was no waterfowl guide if you ask me.

The dbag on the east side of devils might be a better option. He has leased up a majority of the area. I don’t want to mention his name and give him any promotion considering he pretty much single handedly ruined freelancing in that area.

i will concur about the other dbag on north side as well. we had lots of fields and sloughs that we were able to hunt. then over the course of the years it got worse and worse. I think the farmers in the area were sick of being called. so the guides just said, "let us post it and we will field the calls." sad state in the DL area. not certain how much longer we will be going as the lady we stay with is getting up there in age. each year there tho is a gift

One of Jason's guides/partner is a buddy of mine and I know he does a nice job. Either way, to each their own.

Group of buddies went out last winter to fish with Feldner, he had bragged and bragged about being covered in fish. Guys said it was an epic bust and he did very little to try to find them fish. YMMV

DL reputation as an ice fishing lake (especially a destination) is overrated. It is operating off what was something some 20 years ago. People still catch fish, but it is not ....

DL reputation May - September open water fishing cannot be overstated.

Yea pretty much.

When I was talking about his fishing guide skills I was referring to summer not winter. Sounds like he ain’t the best winter guide.
