    @Captain Jim

    There is a guy at Hastings right now that has one female left, bred with a Hightest dog. I don't know anything about the Bitch. I do know that they cost $2500 and both mom and pop have the knees elbows, eyes and clear certificates for all the other crap they screen them for these days. If I remember I'll take a picture of his ad. If I forget call Hastings amd tell them his number is on the board.
    Good luck.

    Jim, I think that there's a pup somewhere out there that needs you, just like you need her/him. Just think about all of the adventures you guys would share. Maybe try for the pup that the elderly couple have. Even if you just fostered the pup it would give it a chance of finding a outdoorsman's home instead of ending up in someone's backyard. I saw how you were with your old dog. It would be really great to talk to you again while duck hunting with a dog in the back of your truck.

    You can probably find a great rescue dog. Any thing with retriever in it will probably work out if you don't care about papers. I am being totally serious. I have trained a few that came from the pound that were mixed breed rescue dogs and they are awesome. Otherwise please don't support dogs that are bred and not checked genetically. EIC has become more and more of an issue with uneducated breedings and buyers. I had another this year that ended up EIC positive after going through a few months of training and then having an episode. Owner had no idea. Now he has a $2700 lap dog. Plus health issues.
