With all of this rain and snow are these two areas going to be fully flooded up and available for waterfowl this spring?

Not a chance but there’s some for the back migration and hopefully more on the way. Time and politics will tell.

If the refuges don’t get some water after this winter, then I don’t know what to think (well
I do and I’m not a fan of it)

conspiracy 101- would if those with power don’t want the birds resting here but would rather have them in their private hunting grounds???
I would put that at the same level as those wearing aluminum foil hats to protect themselves from government satellites reading their brainwaves.

With as cold as it's been, I'm sure everything that has fallen is locked up as snow. That is good. If you look at this winter's total precipitation since Oct. 1 and what is "normal to date", Mt. Shasta is a fair bit above. But north of there (Medford, K Falls, Montegue, Roseburg) it is below normal for the winter.

I’m really struggling to try and follow the logic from one point to the next. Or what the second post has to do with anything.

But I guess I can partially answer the second post regarding geese seeing as how I’ve attended several conferences and presentations. There are now a huge number of geese and their populations are growing much faster than other species of waterfowl. So much so, that some experts can see year round open season with no limits in the future. So we can shoot more. Does that explain it?

Pretty much my feeling as well. Same thing with Sutter and it’s lift pump issues, the Gray Lodge canal etc etc etc. no reason for any water issues period this year.

I hope the waters come back.

Much of the S Oregon region might have what appears to be a good snow year (A positive thing). But we have to keep it in perspective, in a place that averages say 12" of precip a year, a 150% snowpack is only a small amount of water (Relative to the demands). Most of the excess (Even it it wasn't diverted to irrigation or into a river to flush out salmon smolts) would only recharge a fraction of the lost ground water.

I spent a fair amount of time in Lakeview OR (Just E of K Falls) area last summer/fall. Never seen so much dry lakebeds in my life from Summer Lake all the way to the CA border. It will take several years of great snowpack to rebuild what is lost.

I hope it comes back. Gonna make a ton of baby ducks if it ever floods again.

Someone can correct me if I’m wrong but the precip in Crater Lake watershed is also important in regard to feeding the Klamath river watershed……

I know it’a a lot of politics driving what’s happening up there, along with drought but something’s gotta give….

Doesn't seem to be below average winter.
Yup, former SoCal friends who retired to Southcentral OR a few years ago report no shortage of snow.
