there are no birds....... everyone stay home.
Your not alone my friend !!
It always seems to be mallards too
Hen spoonie , stoned at all ranges
Ha. Yeah happens to all of us. Mallards seem bullet proof at times. Then spoonies you don’t even have to be close. They always fall.
I remember hunting Sac in the early 80’s out of parking lot C... there is or was a huge open pond in the back with a mud island...as I walking out to set up in the afternoon I decided to jump shot the tules first . 2 pairs of mallards jumped up at separate times...I just stood there mesmerized and surprised these birds were even there. Didn’t even pull the trigger and they were 5 yards away. Needless to say no birds for that day but a funny memory.
In my defense i was shooting Lead #4’s out of a 30” Full choked 870 !
The day I stop getting fired up at mallards cupping to the call and doing it right will be the day I sell it all....
A good gun mount as you see the "Line of flight" , then a nice smoothe move as your eyes are fixed on the "lead" as the barrel goes from Butt ,Body,Beak..........
BOOM...... ! That usually awakens most up from that November Blind Dream ?
Real Green...I appreciate you honesty.
What’s water? I have forgotten what a flooded field looks like...
manager said the fields are drying up faster then he can flood the next with this stupid heat. 82 in Napa today crazy
Great golfing weather Jim. Sucks for hunting ducks though. Especially in the rice.
