Well, after the first weekend (unless I am reading this wrong) I am leading the flock. Which is amusing, since I didn't watch a single NCAA game this year. (Crazy as this year has been, maybe that is an advantage)

However, it will not last, as my max points are only 680, and I am already at 440. Point are awarded by weight of the rankings. So, if you picked a #1 seed, that might only be worth 10 points in the first game. A #16 seed might be worth 150 points per win. (Those are just numbers out of my head, but you get the idea)

SeanRoberts (1310 possible points) and BassnMeyer (750 possible) are right there at 430. Of the 3 of us, only Sean has a Tourny Winner still in it (Houston) In fact, only 6 members still have their Champ in the Tourny.

Good luck to all this weekend.

It looks like my strategy of just picking the higher seed will not work out this year! I don’t watch basketball at all!

In this contest, if you go pure 'chalk', you might win more games, but each win isn't worth as much in points. You need to mix in some possible upsets to get your 'potential' point total up. Even if you don't win as many games, just a couple of 'good' upsets can send your point total sky high.

I have never done a pool. Ever.

For or family pool. my 4 year old grandson correctly picked the Furman game .
Son said he was reading him each team, but letting him pick.
Evidently the kid likes saying Furman ,as he kept calling everyone a Furman all afternoon.
Probably thinks he saying a bad word .
We also did a women's since the granddaughter idol is Caitlin Clark.
He's so far in 1 on that I don't think anyone's going catch him.

It's NOT the one and done craze that is making this tournament, and all college sports, a hard read right now.....these kids who stay in school ALL get an extra year of eligibility because of covid....and that doesn't include a redshirt season they may have taken before covid.....the result, you have a lot of 6th year athletes...24 and 25 years old. That's a big deal at that level.

Nothing is back to normal yet.

That and the transfer portal has made a huge impact as well. It’s not the same tournament anymore. Crazier

I am 1 for 8 on the left side of the sweet 16.....and 6 for 8 on the right side. Somehow, I still have 3 out of 4 of my final 4 left....only thing saving me from total oblivion.
