Morels

    Anyone finding any morels out there yet? None here east of Fargo yet. Lilacs blooming is the key indicator, and they haven't quite started yet.

    Thought you needed trees for morels to grow under and you guys in ND cut them all down. :D

    2 acres of fallen poplars and birch on my property. Could probably take 20 gallons or more of morels off each spring. Usually only take enough for a couple of meals. Boiled up, lightly fried in butter and cream and some fresh black pepper. Brings a warm feeling every time I taste them (could be my arteries hardening).
