Chemical disaster remediation; generally tidying up unwholesome thingies.

My job was to make dangerous and potentially dangerous situations as safe as possible, protect the public, my staff and the environment, and devise safe disposal routes for any nasties. Saw a lot of very dodgy materials get into places they shouldn't be, but was never in any real danger from them by virtue of good training and a talent for hazard spotting. I am a qualified Safety Manager as well as professional chemist.

Working at night on Motorways, docksides and railways put the wind up me more than any wandering chemistry.

Cleaning up body tissues and fluids was sad; clearing druggies shooting galleries was disgusting. One time we had 16 tons of chicken guts, feet, heads, the lot spread over over 400 yards of motorway and that was bloody hilarious.
