Mushroom thread?

We've got almost 2" of the white stuff on the ground here in NW Illinois. I was up all night knitting stocking caps for any mushrooms that were stupid enough to make an early appearance.

Post up some pics, or if you're finding any, from your morel hunts. We've got plenty of moisture.....now just need some good temps. It's shaping up for a good one. I checked an old favorite early spot yesterday before we got 2.5 inches of rain last night......could be popping next week here from the looks of it.

I hear tell that the teenagers like to go out to cow pastures down here in SWFL and pick mushrooms off of cow patties....

Grif, they are reporting some mushrooms from your area. Here in northwestern IL, it's supposed to be unseasonably warm, and a chance of severe weather on Friday. Saturday, they are predicting snow.

Id guess we uave at least another few weeks up here in OH, maybe even 3 weeks before ill head out searching. Im watching the temps though. Its wet so far which is good

We had some fires in the area last Fall, so pickings should be good.
