Need fishing suggestions for San Diego July 15-17

Hi gang.
My brother and I are going to be in San Diego 15-17 July 2022.
Would like to do some fishing.
Need suggestions for:

1. What to target? (Huge fan of dorado or tuna or halibut or maybe yellowtail, but open to whatever is best then).
2. Which 6 pack boat?

Pinnacle sport fishing (Duane mellor)

Seasons sport fishing (Jamie thines)


July species will be anything from yellow tail dorado and yellowfin under kelp to looking offshore for the big bluefin.

If you want a chance at the tuna of a lifetime fish with Duane of you want to be put on fish fish with Jamie they will both work their *** off to put you on fish. Duane fished with Jamie for years and ran his second boat before going out on his own 8 or so yesrs ago. If they have availability both are great options. But neither are cheap.

I’d try the ocean. You are way way late to probably book anything. I was looking in January-February then the first bluefins were being caught and couldn’t find anything open

For a 6 pack I like El Gato dos out of seaforth landing. For a 4 pack Brothers is running three boats and probably has openings. Tough to get with pinnacle, Duane is a killer and is pretty booked. For a sport boat San Diego or Liberty.

Whatever you do, you better try and book NOW. With the load reductions imposed during covid, boats are booked well in advance, and most the popular ones only have standby lists available.

Looks like we're going with Brothers Sport Fishing. Many of the others are booked already.
