Hunted with Shooter today, we ended up with 7 birds, 6 mallards and a teal. I've been hunting around 10 years but I've never been able to see more than 5 or 10 birds working my dekes. At one point today, we had about 30 mallards circling. It was awesome!! It started out as only 5 or so, and more kept adding on. We had hens talking back to us; I started laughing at one point it was so much fun just working them. A couple widgeon joined the bunch too. Quite a few eyes were looking down on us, and the pond didn't have a ripple on it, so we only got one out of the bunch within range. It was still an unforgettable hunt! Hope ya'll are finding some birds too!:nutz

As I recall, you were invited both today and yesterday. Shooter(the guy who went home with 4 ducks) took YOUR spot because you wanted to hunt with some one else today. Could have been you out there shooting mallards. I had to shoot all those ducks yesterday all by myself 'cause YOU weren't there!!!!! So don't whine about not being invited!!!!!!!!!:nutz

BTW, you are invited monday, tuesday, and wednesday. Are you going to be able to make one of those days or just complain like a little girl when you hear about how many ducks I killed while you weren't there????? :D

Circling ducks are the best decoy around. A lot of times at our club we will have 20 to 30 birds working and at all different angles and ranges and they will work over in killable range and many a time the pairs that were extremely dead if you would have shot them, live because a small flock look really ready to commit and you get greedy. Next thing you know, they all fly away and you didn't even shoot. That is okay sometimes, because it is a rush.
