Snows started landed across the road. Too bad the season does not open until January 30, I think.

I’ve had honkers behind the house the last two nights after dark. I think they’re just migrating south now. I’ve seen none this year.

Here in the valley we have too much of a good thing now. Water everywhere, flooding like crazy and tons of sheet water. So many options for birds, it makes it a tough hunt but options abound for those who scout. I have taken this week off, 38 degrees and pouring rain does not make for a comfortable hunt for us old guys. But lots of birds, as the floodwaters recede hunting should be excellent.

Good luck everyone. OGR

Water is dropping in the valley to a manageable level. Cold bringing lots of fresh birds down. Hunting is turning on fast now, my buddies and I have all had good hunts this week, had a tealstavaganza yesterday. My mallard spot was overwhelmed with flocks of 20 to 100 jet fighters disguised as greenwing teal flaying at mach 2. What tough shooting, I ran out of ammo with only 6 birds on the strap. It should be excellent hunting next week with the freeze if you can find open water.

Perfect timing. I'm sitting in the Atlantic Flyway for a week.

I hope you are hunting.

Snows are still around every day. Oregon needs to move the season up and forget the fall season. imo.

Went out for honkers and nothing flew. I did not shoot and what is worrisome, I did not hear a single shot.

Still not much flying. Have not seen or heard a Canada goose around my house in over a week. Not many Mallards flying around. And the snows left 4 days ago, which is good as I still have feed for when the season re-opens.

Still gonna go out this morning with a couple new guys. I'm not expecting much.
