Awfully coincidental that there are so many ducks around, that's for sure.

Killed a few woodies and a mallard, and my waders.

I'm down in NC and Pea Island NWR appears to be loaded with ducks. Was driving too fast to pick out species, but there were more ducks than I've ever seen there this time of year. Looked like December numbers. Early migration?

Use to make annual early fall trips to frisco on outer banks just prior to our wood duck season coming in here. Always amazed me that Pea Island would be loaded with about every east coast species of duck and hadn,t seen any numbers up on Eastern shore of Md.

Well early duck then/ first split. Where I hunt its always just woodies and nothing else. From what i,ve heard past couple days though theres a good variety here on the shore already. Pintail, widgeon, gaddys and of course mallards and blacks. Just not where I start the season at.

That variety is not abnormal, and never has been.
