Old hen mallard?

Had a pair of mallards decoy on my side of the boat so I took the double. When the dog brought back the hen I noticed she had a yellow green bill sort of like a hen black duck would have. I also noticed the blue in her speculum seemed very light or even greenish for a mallards. Always appreciate the odd balls so i figured I’d share

This guy was shot Friday. Must of been a super late hatch brood.

There was a nest with baby gold finches in it mid sept by my office parking lot. Not sure if they fledged, eaten, etc.

I short one like this earlier this year. Was told a very immature drake that may have been in Canada just a couple weeks prior to me shooting it. Not trying to hijack the original post…
