Had it all laminated and ready to carve by Friday. Glued it after hollowing on Sunday morning.
Dam Tom, that’s a big’en. Is it a loomer ? We want to see that guy in clothes.
That’s a lot of bird.
Just a whistling swan for my hunt in NoDak. First one I have ever done. I plan on more though. Fun project
Been a few month since I posted an update on this latest deadmount. Finally came to "an interesting place to stop" this week. Advantage of having separate shop and studio facilities is that a project like this can be worked on in fits & starts without having to cancel out making gunning birds or attending to other projects. Helps to be retired from the "day job'" as well.
Hope everyone had a good summer. Won't be long now.
The birds in the tableau are full sized, and the overall size of the piece is 31" x 36"

The lighting leaves a lot to be desired this morning, the paint shelf has a few birds nearing the end. And several that have a long ways to go. I should get the half ducks done later today so that project can move forward.
Finished the gamefair redhead as well as the ringneck half ducks. I kept the colors fairly dark on the redhead this time and tried to do a little more active/alert head.
That ringreck is giving me the stink eye...
My first wooden Canvasback. Another of the gamefair birds.
