I have the tapered end, pretty sure medium and fine. The coarse just leaves too many deeper gouges to try and sand out...

I was at another carvers house a couple months ago sorting through the shop remnants of member of our club who had passed. Buried in a box of patterns and notes was this head. It somehow ended up in my stack of materials.

Fast forward to the current issue of the Delta Waterfowl magazine. On the last page is an article about the Delta Marsh decoys made famous by the DuCharme family. I found it interesting that they were influenced by Lake Christina birds here in MN. At that point it dawned on me that I had a head in the bin that would work for that style. Some more digging revealed a chunk of white pine salvaged from a different throwaway pile.

So there it be, a Lake Christina/Delta Marsh style Canvasback. I think I stayed true to the styling. The pine block was a bit heavy, so I did hollow it. Not sure if it will ever hunt or just be a shelf bird.
